Ferguson Forest Centre Corporation Dog Park Committee

Carl Doucette

Chairperson

“Off leash dog parks promote good canine physical health and socialization, reducing nuisance behaviors and making dogs better canine citizens.”

I believe that community involvement by citizens promotes a better society. A community is sustained by volunteers who give of their time and experience with no thought of remuneration. Having recently retired, I find myself in a position where I can now, more than ever, enhance my community giving. I have held leadership positions as a senior Naval officer in the Royal Canadian Navy and as Vice President of government relations for a large multi-national Information Technology firm. I currently hold the position of President, Ferguson Forest Centre Corporation and President of my Condominium Corporation.

I have proven leadership ability working in a team environment to make things happen. I strongly encourage everyone to find a cause and volunteer; not only will you be helping others, you will be helping yourself as well.

Andre Rancourt

Deputy Chairperson

Andre is a retired Chartered Accountant and resides in Kemptville. He has always been very active as a volunteer in numerous not for profit organizations, and eventually completed the Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not-For-Profit Organizations administered by the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management. Andre and his mini golden doodle, Myles, were so pleased to discover the Ferguson Forest Dog Park that he became a member and was enthusiastic to be elected to the committee.

Tom

Public Relations

Tom is a professional Engineer who works for the federal government. Born and raised in Montreal, he has lived in Kemptville for over 20 years, and is a long-time member of the North Grenville Concert Choir (NGCC) where he also sits on the NGCC’s Steering Committee.

Tom currently has two German Shepherd dogs, Jax and Tara, who are both in Competitive Obedience and on their free time, enjoy running and playing in the back yard. To benefit all dogs in North Grenville and to encourage dog owners to meet and share their love of dogs, Tom has been a passionate volunteer throughout the planning and deployment of the North Grenville Dog Park, and looks forward to being involved for many years to come.
